Error 16 happening too often

I use Creative Cloud on a PC and Macbook Pro. On Mac, it just happens way too often that I cannot open an app because of Error 16, something about configuration. I did the clean up in the past (using Adobe's Cloud clean up app), I tried changing the permissions on files, as per instructions from forums, but the only ay to fix it is to remove, i.e. Dreamweaver, and install it again.

When this error happens, I cannot open any of the Cloud apps, except the Acrobat DC which works. The rest returns that Error 16 (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks in my case).

I remove Dreamweaver, and install it again, and they all work. A bit of problem when traveling and using slower Internet connection.

Anyone successfully found the real reason for this error?

Thank you

If the issue still persists , you may enable Root user account for testing purpose and then login as Root and then try to launch all the installed CC apps and check. Let us know if you face same issue or the apps works fine in Root account.

Does that resolve the issue or are you still getting the error?

As I mentioned in my initial post, I have reinstalled the Dreamweaver which fixed the issue. This is the third time within a month and half or so that had to do it.

So, I just experienced the Error 16 again. I did the "root user" as per Brucgovn's post, and I was able to open Dreamweaver. Then I went back and logged on as usual, and Dreamweaver worked. Then, I disabled the root user, and apps still work.

So, just by enabling the root user, opening DW as "root" helped to be able to use apps as usual.

Any thoughts?

Thank you

P.S.

The permissions on the two folders are there as they should be.

This recurring error is maddening!

Ever since I updated my standalone Lightroom to the newest update I have also been having this error reoccur on my iMac. Before that it had never happened. Now it hoses all my Adobe products with this error at the same time. LR6, Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS3, all have the same error. I've gone thru the uninstall, clean, reinstall, permissions change, etc. and it works for a a while and then suddenly the error reappears and I have to go thru the whole reinstall again! The thing is, when I only reinstall Lightroom, the other older programs again work without reinstalling them. Obviously there's some sort of recurring bug introduced with the latest CC update.
