I was installing Creative Cloud in order to use Adobe Premiere Trial when code error 201 showed up. What can I do?

Error 201: stuck at 26% download.

Disabled AVG shields & retry = works.  So more likely to be your AV or Firewall than a connection issue. Good luck.

Pessoal, no meu caso o que resolveu o problema foi desinstalar no Painel de Controle o programa Warshaw da GAS Tecnologia.

Eu uso Itau e ele é instalado com o Guardiao Itau.

Pelo que fala o erro 201 é algo com conexao de rede. E este programa interfere na comunicacao.

Tentei tirar o G-Buster mas ele nao esta no Painel de Controle. Entao ele eu deixei.

Isso tudo no Windows 10.

Apos desinstalar e reiniciar, o CC instalou a atualizacao finalmente!

Hey guys,

For me, the only thing that worked was installing HotSpot Shield, and letting it run while I tried downloading CC.  I don't use Hotspot shield very often, as it seems to slow down my connection pretty drastically, but in a few cases such as this, it gets the job done.

Estava tendo o mesmo problema, e a única coisa que funcionou para mim foi instalar um programa chamado Hotspot Shield, e deixar ele ligado durante o download do CC.  Não gosto de deixar o Hotspot Shield ligado sempre - ele deixa a conexão bem mais devagar.  Mas em certos casos (como a do erro 201), ele resolve o problema.

This is what worked for me (also worked previously on an error 43).

Reinstall Adobe Creative Cloud/Desktop App  - fixed error 43 and 201 issue

1. Open Activity monitor and quit all the Adobe processes in order :   Creative Cloud, Adobe Desktop Service, Adobe CEF Helper, CCLibrary, Core Sync, Adobe Installer, Adobe IPC Broker.

2. open Finder ,click  Go >> Go to Folder and type ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe and click on Go

3. Delete AAMUpdater and OOBE folder

4. open Finder ,click  Go >> Go to Folder and type /Library/Application Support/Adobe and click on Go

5. Delete AAMUpdater , Adobe Application Manager and OOBE folder

6. run CC Cleaner tool and remove Adobe Application Manager AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.dmg

7. Click here to download Adobe Application Manager

8. Once you install Adobe Application manager, open Finder ,click  Go >> Utilities

9. Open Adobe Application Manager >> Core >> Adobe Application Manager

10. Once the update is done, you will get the sign in page for CC Desktop app

I tried everything including your #1 to #6 (even though I had nothing to removed/clean machine + no 'Adobe Application Manager' to remove) and nothing worked.

I continued your listed understanding your process etc (meaning your instructions basically covers everyone from users with apps installed to fresh OS installs like mine).

#7 to #10 Worked exactly as you described (And as an author of technical books I did the very thing I always say not to... I installed 'Adobe Application Manager' jumped ahead and thought "huh? what now?! lol - I then returned to your instructions and followed/read them in detail!

I recommend anyone with this issue to follow the instructions (in detail/each step regardless and read everything) that jamesn12375520 posted as I believe it will solve 99% of peoples issues (On a Mac).

Adobe puts it down to a connection issue which it obviously is not.

For what it's worth, here is what I did to finally fix the issue.  It seemed that the downloaded new version of Creative Cloud Desktop wasn't a version at all and only a link so my MacBook Pro running osx 10.10.5 wasn't connecting to the servers to really make the download.

I tried running the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner App (waste of time)

I tried Deleting the OOBE folder (didn't work).

No identified fixes were working for me and like someone else said in one of these threads, I was beating my head against a wall.

I didn't really believe that this was an issue of connectivity on my side but just in case, I uninstalled my firewall, Antivirus etc.  (Waste of time as well and bad security move - although I didn't leave it that way for long.)

Finally in Total Frustration I totally uninstalled and purged everything on my mac that was Adobe. Programs, Temp Files, Playlists.

Then I found a full download of Application Manager, downloaded it, installed it.

Magically it installed and updated to the proper version of Creative Cloud.  However, of the chosen install app's, Photoshop and InDesign wouldn't install. Again a series of Adobe messages that implied I had the problem.  The Error code was 123.

I'm moving in the right direction. I've gone from Error 201 to 123.

On the various threads about Error 123 the focus was different. There, Adobe was insisting that Mac users install the newest version of the Mac OS for it all to work. Naturally some people were upset and there were several corporate IT folks who had pretty strong words about any company that insist that a user update their OS in order to install a new release, particularly without any pre-warning.

Turns out that in the Creative Cloud folders, \Mac HD\Applications\Utilities\Adobe Creative Cloud\HDCore  there are corrupted files.  Following the 123 discussions I downloaded from the Adobe public downloads a new HDCore.dmg.

Deleting the contents of HDCore.dmg with the downloaded files, Photoshop and InDesign installed perfectly.

Now I've a complete clean install.  Naturally all my personalization settings are blow away but at least after many days of no Creative Cloud I'm back.

Bottom Line, Adobe has made updates designed to contact their servers and instead of downloading fully working installs, they get fancy with having a dialog between your computer and the install servers and unless the circumstances are just so, they fail, and tell you it's your fault. Pretty crappy way to run a business.

I'm sorry this is so Mac specific but I've not tried to update Creative Cloud on my Windows PC. Since it's running Windows 10, I rather suspect it will just work but who knows.
