I can't seem to complete this update installer.

Same problem here. Downloading the update separately and installing also failed. I don't think that I will reinstall the full PS CS6 package, as suggested in the mentioned article, just to fix this. The updater itself is buggy, IMHO.

The simple solution is to uninstall the Extension Manager, download the full package (Adobe CS6 Extension Manager version 6.0.8) and to re-install.

Not if you have to manage education environment with 200+ computers.
