Error Installing Adobe Illustrator (Error Code:156)

I have been trying to install the new version of illustrator for a while now, however, I can not solve this error code.

• I have tried running the program as admin,
• uninstalling the whole of Adobe software I have,
• I tried getting rid of it from the registry,

but none of the methods worked.

I have had Adobe Illustrator installed a while back on this computer (I believe it was the 2015 version).

Help would be appreciated.

You may try a full reinstallation:

A) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences),

B) Run the Cleaner Tool, and

C) Reinstall.

Error 156 means its unable to create the symbolic link.

Click on retry. If it still says then click on more info.

A path/location will be shown to you.

Either rename the path or delete it
