Hacked after effects cs6?

A friend of mine was asking me about a After Effects CS6 disc that he bought on eBay. He says that the disc allows him ever run after effects without it ever asking him for a serial number. My advice was, to send that CD back and get a refund if he could and never use it because it's not legitimate. I've never seen in Adobe product that didn't require a product or a serial number to activate it. Has anybody ever encountered search a version of After Effects CS6. Am I giving him bad advice?

No you're not giving him bad advice, he's got a pirated version of the software, you may want to get him to read this

If I were him, I'd be doing every security scan of his system I could. There's no telling what else came in with the pirated software.
