Help, Can't start Premiere Elements 10 after install from disc, get error: 1 ?

Disc 1 installs PE 10 to my widows xp and all other requirements satisfied computer, but at launch i repeatedly get this Message:

" Please uninstall and reinstall the product

Error: 1 "  ???

Is it Error 1 or Error 16?

I found a link that contains some solutions but cannot vouch for its veracity.

Thx1138tom did you receive any error messages during the installation process?  You might want to start by running the Adobe Support Advisor.  It will review your installation logs and let you know if it is able to identify any solutions to your installation difficulties.
