What are you trying to install? Have you tried closing Winword.exe? You should be able to end the process in your task manager.

Some Adobe products can't be installed if any of the MS Office applications are open and running. Acrobat, for example, won't install if Outlook, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint are open.
You need to close ALL of your Microsoft Office applications FIRST, then try installing again. Assuming you are on a Windows computer, you may have to open Task Manager to do so. Right click on the task bar and click on Task Manager.

Good morning, I have the same issue. Trying to install Adobe DC or DC PRO, but the message to close winword.exe remains after rebooting, and checking that all MS Office programs are closed in task manager. I'm reinstalling because when editing a PDF document in DC PRO the document page turns 100% black. I've reinstalled twice and the problem reoccurs. I may have to look for other PDF editor programs if this persists. Adobe used to work beautifully..

I'm sorry, this isn't a situation I've encountered so I have no certain solution for you.
I would suggest that you try using the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to be certain that Acrobat was fully uninstalled with no weird things left in the registry.
(Note: I believe this removes ALL Creative Cloud programs, so be prepared to reinstall any Cloud applications you have installed.)
You could also try uninstalling all the MS Office applications before uninstalling and reinstalling Creative Cloud and Adobe DC/DC Pro.
Beyond that, you may need to contact customer service. It's possible they can connect to your machine (with your permission) and do this for you if they know how to fix the problem.

I have the same problem. I have tried Task Manager, I have ensured all other apps are closed (I opened this one to look for a solution when I gave up on the chat with the supposed help).

@Deb Baergen , why'd you give up on chat?
