These are the following error messages that I am getting when I try to re install PSE10 Premiere after it DID not install correctly the first time.
On the first installation the actions with the triangles (such as the eraser ikon with the triangle) which when clicked show more choices did not happen after the initial instalation. I found the so-called help pages so opaque that I decided to reinstall the program after uninstalling it.
Here are my messages

So.... What am I to do now?
I have found the so called help pages for Adobe to be so dense and so cryptic it is impossible to resolve this matter.
I only wish the president of the company could see this. I wonder if he or she knows just how bad the customer service is when things go wrong.

If you are trying to install on a Mac OS, try the steps mentioned in this doc: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/925/cpsid_92579.html

Thanks Preran,
I have been trying to do that, but first I must download and install the Adobe Download Assistant. But the page does not indicate where the link is.
Would you please let me know where it is?
Thanks in advance
David

Can you check if these links help you? Couldn't find a link to download the assistant.

An excerpt from that page
When you download any product from Adobe.com that uses Akamai, Akamai automatically downloads and installs on your computer. Then, it automatically starts to download your Adobe product. If you download additional software or products, you don't have to redownload or reinstall Akamai Download Manager unless you've removed it from your system. If you have removed it from your system, it installs again when you initiate the new download.

Thanks for the response, but what happens is that when I click the download button. It runs briefly for a second and then stops and nothing else happens. So where am I going wrong?

Can you check if this helps:
Under certain conditions, Adobe Download Assistant installs but does not immediately start downloading the trial product. If that happens, refresh the Adobe.com trial download page in your browser and then click the Download Now button again.
There are other solutions in this doc: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/898/cpsid_89867.html. If this still doesn't help, I'll ask someone from customer support to reply.

Dear Preran,
Is the download manager the same as the Adobe Download Assistant?
To download trial versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements software, you need to install the Adobe Download Assistant. After installation, the Adobe Download Assistant will start your product download automatically.

Did you try solution 2 in the first document suggested? If not could you try and see if it helps you get started sooner? http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/925/cpsid_92579.html

Thanks for the Reply Vikrant,
I have clicked on the link and I can see what looks like a download taking place (little blue dots appear in the upper right corner). But no file loads onto my desktop. I have tried to find the file, but it cannot find it. Would you please tell what I am doing incorrectly?

Hi Vikrant,
It is my understanding that Adobe Premiere Elements 10 is the name of the program to edit movie files. It appears to be Ok.
Thus to clarify my problem, the program to edit jpeg files is not working correctly. That is to say that my version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 1o is not working. Not one of the ikons with the small triangle, when clicked, shows a subset of other ikons. I am only working with a small bit of the program. What can I do to fix this matter?

Legamin have you successfully downloaded your software at this time? Are you now receiving an error message when trying to open Photoshop Elements? Could you perhaps provide a screenshot of the triangle you are describing. To attach the image to your reply click on the camera button and select your image file.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for following up.
Slowly I am learning about what is going on with my problem. I need to first further clarify my problem for you. I am new to both my iMac and its Version 10 of Photoshop. When I bought the CD set I thought that the term "premiere" referred to both Adobe Photoshop (stills) and Premiere (movies). Now I understand that it only refers to the movies. So, my problem rests with Photoshop. As just mentioned have just acquired my iMac and it does not seem to have a screen shot application. However, would you please take a look at the Tools panel in Photoshop? The icons for the brush tool, the eraser tool, and the smart brush tool all have a tiny black triangle in the lower right corner of the icon. It is my understanding that when I click on the eraser tool and should see three more icons pop up. They do not. So what is wrong? That is the source of my frustration with the product. I can't duplicate some of the instructions that I see in my book.
Again, thank you for your follow up.

Legamin I am not very familiar with the how to use Photoshop Elements 10. For inquiries like that I would recommend posting to our Photoshop Elements forum. The users there are very well aquainted with how the tools you are describing.
Also to create a screenshot you can press Command-Shift-3 and the Mac will create a PDF screenshot of your screen. You can then utilize a photo editing program, like Photoshop Elements , to crop the screenshot to only show the content you want.

Hi Jeff,
I have attached a screen shot of an error message that I received when I clicked on the Photoshop Elements link.
Would you know the URL (is that the correct expression?)?.
Again thanks for the advice; I was able to put it into immediate action.

Legamin you want to click on the camera button and then select your image file to attach the image to your response in the forum. Currently your screenshot is not being displayed.
