i downloaded camera raw 7.4, but now i cannot download my photos

i get the error message this device does not contain any supported media.  i assume there is some problem with 7.4 because i have never had this problem before.  however, i can't seem to go back to the previous camera raw release and further i need the updated 7.4 for a new camera.

any solutions to this?

We cannot know. You are not providing any system info or telling us anything about what camera you use. That aside, ACR 7.4 is in Beta, so ask in the Beta forum/ the Labs forum.

i worked on this issue some more last night and realized that the problem

lay not in the new camera raw but in the formatting of this particular

disk. it was just an odd coincidence that the first time i used the

updated version of raw, the card mis-functioned.
