I have CS5.5 on an old failing pc sot need to install it on another Windows 7 (or 10) pc for an autist6ic child who is obsessed with Photoshop and can't learn a new user interface (it would take years) and is not allowed to be online at any time.
There's a download available in my account but is it better to use my install discs? Or no difference?
People are saying they can't activate CS4, 5, and 6 because Adobe won't give a "response code" or something similar to complete the activation.
I need SIMPLE instructions and help please, I'm not too technical.
OR, is it possible to use a software utility like "easeUS" to move this Adobe application/program to another computer? Or to make a clone and install it?
Thanks a million for any easy to follow help.

You may use a disc or a download, but you will need to be connected to the Internet when you enter your serial number to activate the program... since, as far as I know, offline activation may not work
If Windows 7
TLS 1.2 is now required to connect https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/eol-tls-support.html
-on Windows be sure to do the EASYFIX.MSI in step 2 of the above link
-test your browser https://clienttest.ssllabs.com:8443/ssltest/viewMyClient.html

I'm using current updated Firefox on the target Windows 7 Pro PC and I clicked the link you happily provided and it said the below:

so far, you're good.
you should use your discs to install and serial number to activate. go for online activation. there's a report that offline activation is failing.

I have to buy a used Windows 7 PC so will get back to you after I try to install CS5.5 with my discs and serial number. Again, thanks so very much!
NOTE: I received an email from an Adobe Customer Care Team member who read my post and asked me to email them for help. Will they really help me install this or is it just a courtesy?

NO!
that's almost certainly a scam. do not reply.
if you have any doubts that it maybe legitimate. what is the reply email address? (and if it's adobe.outlook.com or anything similar it's 100% a scam.)

It was from adobe.outlook.com so I searched online and saw that it's a scam.
HOW do these scammers send private messages to members? Insane!
Dear Kglad, I was able to installl CS5.5 from my disc as you advised! BUY...I walked away from my PC during the install and it only installed Photoshop (64 and 32 bit), Bridge, and two other apps but it did NOT install InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, and the rest so what do I do now?
I used my serial number for this second install so can i try to re-install with my disc and choose the missing applications from the "Option" list? Or will that attempt screw up my current successful install?
Also, why is Nancy O'Shea below advisng me to disconnect my second PC from the internet after I installed it?
Thnks so much, I now have an esctatic child with a working PC with Photoshop!!!

Adobe does NOT do support by email, that is a scam trying to steal your information

The above was a private message I did not respond to.

that email from outlook.com is a fake adobe email from a scammer. 100% certain. excellent that you were savvy enough to not respond.
as for your partially successful cs5.5 installation, you are correct; restart the install. but don't walk away until you enter your serial number and then select the apps you want to install. you should be able to easily select them all and then deselect your already installed ps, bridge and two other apps.
once the install process actually starts, you can relax and do something else.

Thank you AGAIN, you've been such an advocate and champion of autistic people.
It's a shame that some users on here do NOT understand that my child cannot learn a new user interface without years of trying and struggle and that I'd happily buy the Photoshop subscription if he could learn a new interface.
I'm amazed at how he's mastered PS and InDesign (on CS5 only) to a level I can't compete with!

good luck! (and sorry about referring to your child as "she" in our private messages - i don't know why i inferred that.)

Autism or not, you need a supporting OS, TLS 1.2 connections, a valid license that's compatible with the software installation disks you received at purchase and an Internet connection to install & activate the software. If you have other concerns, make sure an adult does the installation with child in another room. Once it's installed and running, disconnect computer from the Internet.
Activation of pre-CS5 software is not possible. The activation servers have been disabled.
As of this writing, CS5 and CS6 activation is still possible but nobody knows for how long.
Hope that helps.

Dear Nanacy,
I was able to install my second install of CS5.5 with my disc.
WHY are you advising me to disconnect the PC from the internet after the legal install?

Disconnecting PC from Internet prevents online access. 😉
