Is Adobe Intentionally letting free software flow?

New Here ,

Hi We have recently come across a number of websites that offer premium Adobe software like Premier pro for free. We believe that Adobe would stop them if they wished to, can we assume then, that Adobe is intentionally overlooking this? And can somoene who's just learning video editing and won't use the software frequently download such?

No, Adobe are not overlooking it and will act on reports. There is no intention or amnesty allowing illegal software. There are severe penalties.

It is harder for Adobe to solve this than you might think:

* the site owners can set up new sites in seconds, and change hourly if they want.

* sites may be hosted in countries where US copyright law and treaties do not apply (even if they have local phone numbers)

Beware especially - why would anyone offer this software actually FREE? What is their moneymaking plan? Surely, it is to infect your computer with malware. So don't be surprised if "free" software ends up emptying your bank account or worse.

When you knowingly download & install cracked software, you're no better than the cyber criminals who put it out there.  If it's not infected with malware or ransomware, you can be sure it contains spyware.  So you deserve whatever they do to you & your computer.

Premier Pro is for industry professionals. For amateurs & hobbyists, there are plenty of legitimate free & low cost alternatives you can use instead.

  1. Adobe Premiere Elements.
  2. Apple iMovie.
  3. Windows Movie Maker.
  4. DaVinci Resolve.
  5. Final Cut Pro (mac only)
  6. Pinnacle Studio.
  7. Corel VideoStudio.
  8. CyberLink PowerDirector.
  9. Filmora.
