lightroom 5 download

Attempting to dowload trial of Lightroom 5 and it never "opened". I can find the file on my computer but when I try to open nothing happens?

What computer Mac/PC, and what extension does the files have, ZIP or DMG? Where, specifically, did you download it from, www.adobe.com <http://www.adobe.com> or creative.adobe.com?

PC. I downloaded from Adobe.com. The file is Lightroom_5_LS11.exe and if I go to my Google Chrome downloads it is listed, but when I click, nothing happens

There is a difference in licensing between LR5-CC that you’d download from creative.adobe.com and the LR5 non-CC from www.adobe.com <http://www.adobe.com> , but I’m going to assume you’re downloading from www.adobe.com <http://www.adobe.com> . The EXE you’re downloading is 800+MB so will take some time, and I have had downloads from Chrome stop partway through and Chrome not tell me the download was incomplete.

Another guess of what might be happening is you have virus protection or internet security that blocks the execution of EXEs downloaded from the internet. You can try temporarily disabling the scanners and security to see if that is the problem. If not turn them back on.

Another guess is that your OS is too old to support LR5.

You can try downloading and installing the LR5.3 update from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates

And make sure it completes. Make sure it completes before trying to run it.

Thank you for all your help. I did have to unblock in the properties and it began to install only to get far enough to realize my Vista OS won't support it, 😞
