I just downloaded and installed an upgrade from Lightroom 5.7 -> 6.  It is the desktop version. I have opened the app twice, and after moving through the photos for a couple of minutes, it crashes.

Anyone having similar issues?

@ben ,

Sign out and Sign in to Creative Cloud App and then try to launch Lightroom cc , if that does not work , try below steps.

1) Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To" Folder option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.( Do not miss ~ symbol)

~/library

Under Library folder , locate the folder named  "Preferences"  .

Open Preferences folder and locate com.adobe.Lightroom6 file and move it to Desktop (Make sure it is not present under Preference any more)

Then try to launch LRCC

Pulled com.adobe,Lightroom6.plist from folder onto desktop and launched Lightroom cc per your instructions.

Thumbnails still very slow to open when I scroll through the filmstrip at the bottom of the screen.

I note that there are two new LR catalogs now - Lightroom Catelog.lrcat and Lightroom Catalog-2.Ircat and my old catalogs for LR 3, 4 and 5.

Lightroom is sort of working now, i.e., hasn't crashed in a while, but behaving strangely - thumbnails very slow to open when I scroll through photos. Never had this happen before. Internet connection working fine, download speeds excellent.

I forwarded the crash info to both Apple and Adobe via the crash detection app.  Logged out of Creative Cloud. Still working without a crash (30 minutes)

Are you opening the new program?  When I downloaded LR6, I opened it first, it asked me to update my catalog, and then it worked fine.  After that, I uninstalled LR5.  There are 2 programs now on your computer, delete LR5.

I am having the same issues. Trying to get it to crash again so I can get error messages for John Waller. Bu tit is acting buggy - slow to load thumbnails. Will be back as soon as it crashes with errors messages. I am on a Mac with OS updated to latest version;

Deleted com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist file and relaunched Lightroom CC (2015 ) from Creative Cloud.

Lightroom opened fairly quickly, but still same issue with very slow to open thumbnails. I have only 1,288 photo in my catalog.

John, I selected an old LR 4 catalog. The program asked me to upgrade this old catalogue. Did so and have same issue except many of the thumbnails in the filmstrip are not opening at all.

So I went back to my original catalog, updated it and relaunched LR. No issues with thumbnails opening now. Everything appears to be working. If you are ever in Cedar Rapids, I owe one or two beers and maybe a steak.

This is a reply in translated  Dutch, but hope at you can read it.

I had a similar problem with LR6 with Windows 7 64 bit PC.

After a lot of searching found that the cause lay with the driver of the graphics card .. I downloaded the beta version for AMD LR6 crashes and no more. Again, every act in LR6 open a picture, or use ontwikkelmoduul crashes LR6. So update your graphics card. To supplement for Windows7 users
