Many of the apps that I once used are not "system incompatible". A few years ago I added memory and installed slightly older versions of apps and things were working fine. I haven't used cc in a few years but was still paying for it but now I go to use them and it's incompatible again.
I've been looking and looking to find the versions that work for my system but can't find them. I would like to continue to pay for and use these apps. Is there really no option for me? I can't find a more direct source for help so I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this.
My system:
Your computer is 11 years old and cannot run current macOS versions. Since Catalina there has been Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, and Sonoma, plus Sequoia will be out this fall. So you are WAY out of date and unsupported.
Adobe typically drops support for most of CC at the same time as Apple, which is current plus two versions back. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro running Monterey that will soon be out of support.
Adobe has also stopped providing downloads of older software, for reasons that are unclear,

Also, I have attempted the software update but it says that it is up to date.

if you have a current subscription, contact adobe support and see if they'll give you links to compatible apps. (update us after contact.)
there are 2 ways to contact adobe support; chat and twitter (now x):
chat:
if you have or want to purchase a subscription, use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.
twitter/x:
tweet @AdobeCare
p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

Adobe has also stopped providing downloads of older software, for reasons that are unclear, and aggressively cutting off users of pre-CC versions. Don't expect that to change.
Bottom line, its time to start looking for a newer computer. Apple switched from Intel to its own Apple Silicon processors in 2020 and even a 2-3 year old M1/M2 machine will run laps around your computer. I'd recommend at least an M1 and 16GB of RAM, with better specs if you can afford it. You are looking at about US$1000 and up.

Finally, Apple will likely be releasing new computers in October or November. If you can wait until then, prices on older kit should fall a bit plus you can see what new goodies are in the stores.
