I have used cs5 for years and in that time I have ( restored my computer a few times ) so I have deactivated and reinstalled my cs5 production suite a few times and then went and got the updates. now this cs5 is an upgrade from the cs3 suite I have and I would always go the long way and install the cs3 then up it to cs5 but this time I did not do that I just installed cs5 and then used its number and then in the proper place I also placed the cs3 number when it asked for the number from my old version. all went fine but then it would not update so I deactivated it again and uninstalled it and then installed cs3 the upgraded to cs5 but it still will not update... now it will activate and it will work and it will download the updates but it will not install them. Has adobe stopped letting people get updates to cs5. I did all this restoring this time because the photoshop got to where it would not turn on... I mean I could open it a few time and then it would just not work so I would have to reboot my system and then it would work for another few times and then just stop opening. My system is a Dell precision T5400 with dual quad-core 3ghz xeon cpu's / 20 gig's of 667 mhz memory and a quadroFx 4800 video card with 1 1/2 gigs of memory. and windows 764bit pro. again its not the system because I have used it on this same system for years.

Hi Lester,
Another solution is to run the Cleaner Tool (helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html) to fully uninstall CS, then reinstall from here: www.adobe.com/downloads/other-downloads.html
