Hello, I have a copy of CS3 that I bought around 2007/2008. I have had it installed on this machine for about a year now. And now it is asking me to register it, and says it will expire in 2 day. However I am unable to connect to re-register it. So I went here Obtain a new serial number | CS3, CS4 and got a new Serial Number to use when registering it.
However the problem In now having is that when I open Dreamweaver and select register, there is no place to enter the new Serial Number. It does not give me the option. The only option seems to be 'Reactivate', but no place to enter the new serial number. It then tries to connect to the server and then fails. It seems im stuck in a loop.
Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall in order to enter the new Serial Number?
Could someone please help assist. Very much appreciated.
Hello John T Smith.
Wow. Great answer.
So why has DwCs3 been working on my win10 machine without any issues for the last 2 years? And why is my Dreamweaver CS3 now all the sudden asking to re-register it? Why would win10 care if it was registered ? Plus the fact that I "dont care about support" I just want my old ($300.00) CS3 version to work. I have had it since 2007 and nothing much has ever changed so who cares about updates and support. I am only using it to change simple code, such as picture

Hi John,
When I got the new Serial Number that was all I did was obtain it. When I tried reinstalling DW there was a place to enter the new number so that was all I did.
When you say the serial number only works with the special program that you download and install, what do you mean? can you expand on that please?
I have been using CS3 on this machine which is only about 2 years old now for 2 years without any issues until now.
CS3 is working fine except for that message "You have 1 day left to re-activate the software".
So here is where I am at currently:
1: If I go to Add/Remove Programs, and try to do an uninstall of Dreamweaver, I get this message "WIndows cannot find c\program (x86)\common
2: I tried re-downloading the AdobeCreativeCloudCleaner Tool and attempted to run it. When I get to where I select the program you want to remove CS3, I get t his message, "There are no sessions to delete, cleaner will now close".
3: If I open Dreamweaver, it still Opens and works with the exception of the message that I have 1 day left to re-register.
I really need to get this fixed asap as we have been using our copy of CS3 for years now to support our Website and I need to make some updates and changes to our website.
Please help... thanks in advance,

See the answer to this:
You will need the replacement installer + new serial number that does not require activation.
That said, CS3 is not certified to run on Win10.

see my post previous to yours.
The cleaner tool does not work for me I get a message, there are no sessions to delete and then the cleaner closes.
Also, I already received a new serial number.

Let's start at beginning.
Did you sign-in with your Adobe ID & old CS3 serial number to get the replacement installer & accompanying serial number? See link below.
Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8

Hi,
Yes, and I just did it once more using your ilnk and it returned with a new serial number (which is the same one that I got the other day when I did this). I have written it down.
I just downloaded the replacement installer. Its called akamai_netsession installer? I have not done anything with it as of yet.
Please advise what my next steps are
And thank you for helping me, much appreciated.

Install the replacement version. It should be in in your Downloads folder. Right-click on the installer and run as administrator. Your Windows UAC may pop-up and ask for permission to make changes to computer, etc... Hit YES.

Ok, I did the install and ran it as administrator as you said. Please let me know the next steps.

Launch DW.
When prompted enter the new serial number. And hit Never Register.
If you still see an activation countdown, you'll need to remove the old cache.db file again.
Restart your computer.

When I launched DW I still got the "Temporary Activation" message.
I then closed DW, and deleted the cach/db file and did a restart. After my machine restarted there was a message "Windows firewall blocked some features of Akamai netsession client". It had an option to Allow so I did that.
I then restarted DW again and was able to enter the new serial number. However there was not any option or window to select "Never Register". The message "Temporary Activation" you have 1 day left to re-activate this software" came up. At that point the only options on that window are to Reactivate later, Re-activate or quit.

Do you have other Adobe products installed on your system -- maybe from previous versions?

I just looked at Programs installed. The only Adobe product I see listed is Adobe Flash Player 23-NPAPI.
Something strange is why DW is not listed? although I can launch it still from the start menu?

Yeah. Something very strange is going on with your set-up. It could be a goofed up registry but I'm not qualified to say for sure. I think you need to reach out to Tech Support on this one. You can reference this thread Need help please. Unable to enter new Serial Number for CS3 in your Chat with Customer Care.
It might give them some leads as to what's going on.

Ok thanks Nancy for all your help, im disappointed I can't resolve this, looks like as of tomorrow we won't be able to use DW.
I tried the customer support link, I can't seem to get that option to work, I go in loops in trying to send a message.
Someone did send an email but I don't know if replying to the email works but did it anyway. If that doesn't work, someone can contact me at my cell at 425-412-0295.
