New Mac Book and trying to install a CS5 upgrade

New Here ,
Jan 25, 2012 Jan 25, 2012

Just bought a new Mac Book pro to replace my old one and I am trying to install CS5 on it. This is an upgrade from CS4. I have opened the downloaded copy and tried to put the serial number in to activate but it is looking for CSV which is not on the new mac. Have tried to input the CS4 serial number but it rejects it?

Is it looking for CS4?

Can you try deactivating the CS4 on your old computer, install CS4 on your new computer, activate it, and then install CS5? Maybe you want to wait for someone on this forum for a better answer.

Before upgrading you might want to take care of items mentioned in this article http://prairiefireproductions.com/2010/04/a-protocol-for-upgrading-to-adobe-photoshop-cs5/

Thanks for the reply and I will have a look at the aticle. Cant disable CS4 on my other mac as Apple did a software update last week that seems to have stoped it running, just get an error mesage 150:30. Not happy haveing bought a licence to use CS5 I cant easily use it on my new computer. Is there a support phone number for the UK?

Penfoldpdc I would recommend trying the steps listed in Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS.  The steps listed within the document should resolve your difficulties with the 150:30 error.
