I have an iMac running OSX Lion. When I insert the Photoshop Elements 10 install disk, nothing happens. If I open up the CD, all I see is a bunch of install files. Why is isn't the installer opening upon insertion of the disk, and how can I fix that?

Can you list the names of the files (dmg or pkg) files that exist?  Please enable the viewing of filename extensions in your Finder.  One of the files may be the correct install disk.  On Windows usually Adobe file installers are named 'Set-up.[extension]' .  This may be the case for Mac OSX as well.

This is what's on the disk:

And this is what's inside the "Adobe Photoshop Elements 10" folder:

Well it is obvious you have a Windows Installer Disc, not a MAC Installer Disc.  You need to get the correct installer.  Did you buy this disc from Adobe directly or from a third-party retailer/store?

Please review the document Preran posted.  You should have a total of 3 discs.  Disc 3 contains the install files for Mac OS.  Also Mac OS does not have an auto-play feature so the installer will never launch automatically when you insert the disc.
