Subject: Request for Assistance with Photoshop Elements 9 Deactivation and Reinstallation

Dear Adobe Customer Care,

I purchased a hard copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 from Best Buy approximately 12 years ago. The computers where I originally installed the program are no longer available, and I would now like to reinstall it on a new device.

Since I cannot access the old installation, I am unsure how to properly deactivate the license to proceed with a new installation. Could you please advise me on the steps I should take to deactivate the previous installation and reinstall the software on my current computer?

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or support you can provide. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

(I will provide the Serial number when you send me an email response)

Best regards,
Gina Wu

The only way to deactivate is if you can open the program on the computer that you want to deactivate.

Gina, in addition to the suggestions offered by Peru Bob and Kglad, please see https://adobe.ly/4pmvSi7 which discusses how to manage any remaining activations in 2025. ^JW

Do you have a 12-year-old computer that can support your 12-year-old product?

If not, this is an exercise in futility.  PE9 wasn't built to run on modern systems. It's too old.

Photoshop Elements 2025 (3 year license).

System Requirements:

- Windows 10 (version 22H2) or Windows 11 (version 23H2), 64-bit versions only;

- macOS 13, macOS 14.4 or later, macOS 15;

- 8GB of RAM

- 10GB of available Hard Disk Space

Hope that helps.
