I have a new laptop and wanted to install my Adobe Creative Suite 6. After the installation I get the message that the license cannot be activated because it is already active on another device. However, the old laptop has been completely uninstalled and there are no active devices listed in my account. How can I reactivate my license so that the activation works on the new device?

Uninstalling and deactivating are not one and the same. You will need to re-install on that old laptop and follow the procedure to deactivate your license. Then you can proceed to uninstall, and then install on your new device. https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/activate-deactivate-products.html . This is your only option as Adobe support no longer resets activation counts for pre-Creative Cloud versions as of this year.

you'll need to try and re-activate on that older lap where you uninstalled. to do that you'll need to reinstall and reactivate and that reactivation is going to be problematic because the two activations on the same (older) computer may be recognized as a different computer.
but to give it a try, you should update the older computer's os and default browser (and do not use opera as a default browser). chrome is the best choice for a default browser. then install, activate and hope the activation is allowed.
then comes the tough part, deactivate (by clicking help in one of the apps > deactivate or sign out).

it's doable, but difficult. your old computer needs to meet updated security requirements.

All the more reason to ditch the unsupported legacyware from 13 years ago. There's no guarantee CS6 will perform as expected, much less activate on a new computer. It's way beyond its 'replace me' date.

Right. You need a subscription-based service (Creative Cloud Plan) to see devices listed in your account.
Nothing is certain with unsupported products. 😓
