A friend of mine is trying to install PSE 10 but he was unsuccessful until now.
He uses 2 systems : a Mac connected to the Internet and a PC running Windows 7, which is not connected to the Internet for security reasons. He wants PSE on the PC. When connecting to the Adobe site on the Mac and trying to download a trial version, this activates the Adobe Download Manager and this utility immediately tries to install the Mac version. So we started the installation from a connected PC under Windows, and when the installation started, we copied the PSE10 folder to the non-connected PC and tried to run the installation from there by launching setup.exe.
The installation failed (rollback at the very end of the process) because it was "impossible to start "Adobe Active File Monitor V10". I also noted that the installation of the "Shared Technologies" module failed.
Question : Is an Internet connection mandatory when installing PSE this way? Otherwise, what is the solution suggested by Adobe in such a situation?

PS: By the way, it would be a nice idea to go back to a simpler installation process : downloading an executable that can be stored and moved to whatever disk or system we like. Most of us don't need this Download Assistant which complicates our lives in many cases. At least, we should have the choice.
