I am having issues caused by the PxHlp20 driver installed with CS6.
Anyone know which program within the collevtion uses that driver?
Thanks,
Doug

what makes you think that was installed by adobe's cs6?

During installation the complete CS6 i get a warning for a driver conflict error.
The driver is not there before the install nd is after.
Prior to install the external CD Drive works fine. After install it no longer works and PxHlp20 is the listed conflict.
i can install Dreamweaver without issue, so the driver is not a part of every CS6 program.

Smacking head,
letters and numbers getting jumbled in my head.
See attached, hopefully that helps.
PxHlpa64 and PxHelp20 were both shown in Device Manager under the driver tab.
sorry for confusion. i have reset my computer several times trying to find out what changes were happening

i don't know what either of those screenshots show. some rovi driver is shown in one screenshot. the 2nd screenshot looks like something related to an io device.
do you think rovi is related to adobe? do you think that io driver is related to adobe?

The first screenshot is the file that is installed during the CS6 install.
The second shot is the device that is no longer functioning after the CS6 install

i see nothing related to adobe. if you can block it, do so.
if you cannot, use a reliable installation file from prodesigntools.com. https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-direct-download-links.html
follow the directions (esp, step 1)
save the install file. it may not remain online.

reset your computer to clear it (and everything else from your install file). then use the prodesigntools install file.
i'm interested in seeing if that same problematic file is present.

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10 or Windows 11
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions

John,
So far i have not had issues running the programs, at least not the ones i have attempted to use. The driver is causing issues with the external DVD drive, i.e. it not longer operantional. i have tried uninstaling the DVD driver and reinstall to no avail. i have also tried a different DVD drive, again it still dose not function.

I think surely your big mistake was to try to install this ancient software in Windows 11. However, it isn't clear this is an Adobe device driver. As noted, this seems more related to ROXIO software/DVD burners. Conceivably some Adobe apps install this driver to burn DVDs, but I would check your other apps installed. Certainly the driver isn't compatible with Windows 11, so if CS6 does need it, you need to stop trying to install to Windows 11. To run ancient software, keep an ancient system.
