I recently bought a new copy of Photoshop Elements 13 at a Future Shop store, i.e. box with DVDs. When I insert the DVD (Windows) and start the install process, I am soon asked to enter a 24-digit serial number. The manual says it should start with 1057. There is no such number to be found, as far as I can see. There is an 18-digit number on a sticker on the box and an 8-digit number on the DVD sleeve. The install window requires a 24-digit number, so I cannot move past it and am stuck. What do I do?

As I said in my initial question, there is no 24-digit number on either the box or the DVD sleeve - I had already been to the help page you referred to, and it did not help me.
That is what I am finding so frustrating here - I have never before had trouble finding the serial number for a new install.

what did adobe support say?

I have had no contact with adobe support. There is no phone support at all that I can discover, and their chat line closes at 7:00! I have been installing computer programs for well over 35 years, and I have never run into such a dead-end with an off-the-shelf product. I am not so far not able to get a clear, simple answer to so basic a question as Where is the serial number of the product I purchased? I am underwhelmed.

Hi Michael,
Serial number for Photoshop Elements is available on the product sleeve. Please see the picture to locate the serial number on your box.

I'm also sick of finding the serial number...
I think that's why I apply the free trial after I bought CS6- Design & Web Premium(Education version).
Otherwise I couldn't able to finish the assessment from the professor.
There's no email contact on the Adobe website.
How could the students in Asia ask for serial number application?
Via snail post? That really sounds ridiculous...
Here on the forum? That is more weird!!
Any other solution? Please help me~

Hi Ida,
Did you purchase the software from Adobe directly? I was unable to look for any orders with the email address you are signed into forums.
If you have purchased the software from reseller, you would need to provide the proof of eligibility documents.
Please see help here - https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html

Dear Ani ![]()
Thank for your reply. I am based on the Pacific Asia and purchased from the local agent.
Is the following link what you suggest to fill in?

Well, it is what I am applying...
Just hoping I am on the way~
Thank you again.

Yes, you are. Please submit a case with the product code and you will get the serial number.

Thank you very much for the very clear solution to my problem. The sleeve was taped at the bottom of the box, so it did not pull out - there was no way of knowing, without being told, that it was a sleeve and not just part of the box. And there is NO reference to this on the Adobe website page re.finding you serial number. And the tech help guy I chatted with last night had NO idea that this is where to find the code - the best he could do was tell me to talk to Future Shop and that, really, I should have bought directly from Adobe!
In any case, thanks again for the simple, clear solution.
Michael
