Serial Numbers for products purchased in Mac App Store

Community Beginner ,

How do I find the serial number for my Adobe product that I purchased from the Mac App store? I've reviewed the FAQ, help, and forums, but can't find an answer specific to products purchased from Mac App store. I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Editor. I want to register it with Adobe but I need the serial number. It is nowhere to be found.

Thx!

You might need to contact the retailer where you purchased the software.

Here are some links to help locate the serial number in different scenarios:

Hi. Soooo, I did contact them, because the first Adobe customer service person I chatted with told me to contact them. I sent a message to Apple support and told them that I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 from the Mac App Store, aaaaaand they told me to contact Adobe. I'm going in circles!

Apple support said that the only thing I could do was "redownload the program" and "see if it asks me for the serial number" this time. They had no idea where to tell me to look for the serial number. Incidentally, there's technically no "download" option when you purchase from the Mac App store. After you click "buy," the option that displays is simply "install." So you click on that and the program installs. When it's finished, you can launch the program and, when you do, it just opens like normal. There is no prompt to register the product or enter the serial number. But I want to register my product with Adobe.com so I can be sure to get updates on it.

Incidentally, I also already checked out the links you provided (which I did indicate in my original message). There is nothing there that gives any guidance whatsoever on where to find the serial number for a product purchased from the Mac App store. The closest option is the "store download" option, but those guidelines tell you to enter the redemption code. I was never given a redemption code. I simply clicked "buy" and then "install" and - poof! - the program was loaded on to my MacBook Pro.

Surely i am not the only person who has ever purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Editor from the Mac App store. There HAS to be someone who knows what to do here.

Thanks!

If the product was downloaded and installed and activated ala the Mac store, then they are the ones who have the serial number information that was needed for the activation to be possible.

Adobe no longer sells PSE11, so it is not likely they are going to be in the loop for providing you the serial number.

Most of the people that help here purchase their products from Adobe, not third party vendors.  So they/we are not likely to know what goes on at the Mac store when it comes to purchasing Adobe products.  But there could always be someone who has had a hand in the matter that you might luck into getting their attention.

Most people that look for help here rarely come back and look to help anyone else with the same problems.  What you could always try is to search the forums using keywords and see if anyone else had a similar problem and what came of it.

Yeah, i did that, too. couldn't find anyone with a similar issue. Which is weird. Also weird that Adobe no longer sells PSE11. PSE12 is not even available in the Mac App Store. And, like I said, the Mac App Store peeps keep telling me they have no serial number information. Wee!

It's not wierd for Adobe to not sell older versions of their software.  They've been doing it that way for as long as I have been buying from them.  It is wierd that Mac is not up to speed and selling the latest release.

whoops. that's what i meant. weird that mac is not selling PSE12.

so if they're no longer selling PSE11 does that mean they longer send updates/provide support?

Thx!
