I bought the program through Amazon: the MAC/PC DVDs. On the envelope there is a number 91091127. That is all.
It seems as though for such a fundamental problem, I should be able to contact Adobe more directly.
Based on a recent posting, it is possible you will find the serial number on a box within the box... a box that is not obviously/easily removeable. As Steve indicated, if you remain unable to locate the serial number you will need to contact the Amazon seller and request they provide you with what you purchased.

Chances are you will be dealing with a redemption code scenario where you use that code to acquire a serial number. If not, then there should be a serial number somewhere inside the package, usually on the disc case. Here are some links that might help:

Hi there,
Serial number is printed on the product box inside the packaging cover.

Thank you Ani*Adobe. I also purchased my Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 from Amazon and have searched for days on the website with no luck in locating the serial number. Only with your photo showing the inside box was I able to locate it. Thanks.

And if you purchased through Amazon and they shipped you a product without a serial number, you should contact them, to get a replacement.

I am getting conflicting messages. I looked on the box, and it does not have the words "Serial Number", but on the bar code there is a number 750876523445505781. Not enough digits, and it does not start correctly.
I have never had a problem getting Adobe products through Amazon before. I would like to have direct contact with someone who works for Adobe and can tell me what is truly going on.
I just upgraded two machines from Mac OS 10.6.8 to 10.10. I had Elements 8 on both. On one (a six-year-old Imac) it works fine. On the other (a new laptop) it told me about licensing problems. I tried all the solutions I saw on the Web and nothing worked, so I decided it was time for a new version.

Indeed, the serial number is on the box within a box. Now I understand the picture that was sent earlier. I think Adobe should change the description, as that box is not what I would think of as the "DVD case".
Thank you.
Followup question: In the past I have been able to install Adobe programs on my laptop and my home desk machine. Still true? If so, do I have to go through the whole procedure starting from the DVD? I just installed the update to 13.1.

Your license allows you to have activated installations on two machines... so if that's what you mean then it remains true. I don't understand the question regarding the DVD... you have to install it. You can download the installation files but I do not think it includes updates if you are looking to install to the latest update on the first shot.
