Transferring licenses when computer no longer works

How can I transfer an InDesign CS6 license to another computer if the original computer it was installed on no longer works? I tried using the license key I had before, in case there was an extra activation left. However, the non-profit I work at purchased the license through TechSoup (which provides non-profits with discounted software), and I believe we only received one activation because of this. When I used the old license key, it gave me the message below. What should I do to get the license onto my new computer? I would try to deactivate the old license, but the old computer no longer turns on.

that's not the error message you would see if you exceeded your activation limit.

in any case, contact customer support.  chat works well:  www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html

Thank you. I thought the error message was strange as well. I'm on their customer support site's chat function, so hopefully we can get it figured out.
