Troubleshooting the installation issues for non-CC versions of Adobe apps

Hi,

For the non-CC users who still work with the installers directly, I see that we still continue to show the hyper-link to "Get Adobe Support Advisor"(Adobe - Adobe Support Advisor) in the installer(RIBS) error dialogs.

The web-page then has a link to  Adobe support section (Adobe Support).Sort of like a redirection.

However, since the support advisor tool is no longer available, can we not just directly specify this in the first place??

Here is one such complain from the user of Lightroom product:

" After going to the link shown in the above screen capture and downloading Adobe Application Manager, I open the .dmg file and run the Installer program.  The result is the following error message which tells me the app fails to install and directs me to  "Get Adobe Support Advisor"

After going to the link shown in the above screen capture to get Adobe Support Advisor, I find myself on the Adobe Support Advisor page, which, rather than providing a download link just informs me that "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued"

So what am I to do?

Perhaps someone at Adobe would be kind enough to tell me why I am getting instructions to download and install an app which won't install, and then direct me to a resource which no longer exists???  "

>open the .dmg file and run the Installer program

IF Mac El Capitan read below

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated to run on Mac El Capitan

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems

-you may get CS6 and earlier programs to install and run, or you may not (some do, some don't)

-IF not, post details of any error messages and someone may be able to help

That MAY be a false error message due to Mac El Capitan and OLD programs

This information is a MUST DO to install old programs on Mac El Capitan

-you may not get the same error message, but these are some links that MAY help with old programs

-Java https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/dreamweaver-java-se-6-runtime.html may help

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455 may help (also for other than CS5)
