Other Instances of Adobe Application Manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product, Please close or wait for them to complete

But as far as I can tell there are no other versions running

Since I can not get it install nothing else is downloadable

Correct answer TonyHAus

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem but with Windows 7 64 bit so I'm not sure this will work with Win 8 but see if it helps.

1. Boot into Safe Mode

2. Locate OOBE folder using search. In my copy of Win 7 it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

3 Rename OOBE folder to OOBEold

4 Reboot normally

5 Download Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773

6 Locate download and run install

7 Application Manager Installs!!!! (We hope :-) )

Have you verified that it is not running in your task manager or activity monitor?  Also which operating system are you using?

Can you provide a screenshot of the running process in your Task Manager then?  According to the error there is a process remaining which is interfering.
