How to Activate Adobe CS4?
I have purchased CS3, then upgraded to CS4 with a vaild INDESIGN UPG code.
Now my computer box has died, I need to install CS4 again from the boxed DVD.
When prompted for serial number it says serial number invalid.
The serial number is the one printed on the box.
It is correct.

I do not think Adobe ever put a number ON the box where anyone in a store could see and steal the number
As far as I know, the serial number was always INSIDE the box

We regularly encounter confusion in this forum regarding which box you mean.
The DVD's are in a plastic DVD-sized case (or box) with the serial number on a sticker on the back.
The plastic box containing the DVDs is shipped inside a cardboard box with Adobe Creative Suite artwork on it. That's the box you see on store shelves. For obvious reasons, none of the codes on the cardboard box are the software serial number.
Do you mean the outside cardboard box or the plastic DVD case (inside the cardboard box)?
Apologies if this stuff sounds basic but it has thrown entire discussions in the past.
