I have the CS6 version of Design and Web Premium installed on my macbook. Recently I tried installing it on my iMac running Yosemite. When opening any of the CS6 programs I get "Error 16". I have tried changing the permissions in the SLStore and Adobe PCD folders, but to no avail. I have also tried deactivating CS6 on my macbook. Why am I still getting Error 16?

Instead of changing the permission to SLStore and Adobe PCD folders, Please Set the permission folder Adobe folder it self. You need to Set permission for SLCache. All of these folders are under Adobe.
Exact path MAC HD//Library/Application Support.

Changed the permission for the Adobe folder.. now I am getting "Error 1". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I am still getting that error code. Any suggestions?

Have you set read and write permission for Admin, your user name, system, every one. Once you have set the permission you need to click on gear icon and choose Apply to enclosed items.

jasoneufeld, In that case you may need to uninstall the programs, then move Adobe PCD and SLStore folders to desktop.
Then reinstall the products.

In this case you may to perform a clean installation once, meaning removing all Adobe products folders.
First Run cc cleaner tool and clean remove all products
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.
Then Open Applications folder and trash All Adobe related folders
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type exactly ~/Library and click on Go
Then open Application Support
Rename Adobe folder to Adobeold
Go back to Library and open Preferences
Then trash All Adobe preferences files
Go back to Library and open cache ( trash All Adobe related files )
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
This time type /Library and click on Go.
open Application Support
Rename Adobe folder to Adobeold.
If possible restart the computer once.

I'm assuming I need to perform a clean installation on my imac, not my macbook?
When I go through the cleaner tool steps and I click on the "Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium" uninstaller, I get a message that the alias can't be opened because the original file can't be found.

In CC cleaner tool, choose the option "Clean All". That is fine .
Then trash All Adobe related folders from Applications, it will remove them. Then follow above steps

Hi sam.am,
I downloaded and installed the trial of cs6 and entered my serial number.. indesign and photoshop are working, however Illustrator does not open and quits unexpectedly showing a long error report.
I used terminal and entered a sudo command to open Illustrator. It opens with this method... is there a way I can get around having to use terminal to open Illustrator?
I also tried fixing all permissions using the Disk Utility.
