why can't I download after effects? I just get the "we're having problems" message and I just spent two hours on the phone with India.

It's been two days now.

Every time I try to download After Effects on my Windows 10 32 bit laptop, the web page message says "We are currently experiencing some issues, please try again later. If the problem persists, contact customer support."

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with India trying to resolve this to no avail.

India should have told you that After Effects is 64-bit only.

Thanks! 2 hours of my life gone. Is there a way to upgrade to 64 bit? This is a new computer I purchased with windows 10 32 bit pre-installed, for college projects (mainly papers, etc.) so there isn't really any personal files to back up yet.

I did a Google search and this was the first result: How to Switch From 32-bit Windows 10 to 64-bit Windows 10

You'd better do your research on this.  If you bought a pre built laptop with a 32 bit  operating system you probably have inadequate RAM to run AE.   On a side note if they did sell it to you with more than 4gig of RAM you got taken as, last time I checked windows 32bit doesn't natively support more than 4gigs of RAM.

Make sure to check the minimujm system requirements to run W10 x64  & of AE.

If possible you might want to have someone help you to determine whether or not you laptop will run W64 &  AE.

You may have already wasted money on software you can't run...you wouldn't want to make the same mistake with 64bit OS

Gutter-Fish is right. You really need 8 GB of RAM to really use AE well and 32-bit Windows can only recognize 3.something GB, so your laptop probably has, max, 4. Technically, you can run it on 4 GB of RAM, but it's gonna be a bit slow. See the After Effects System Requirements

‌Ok. I've given up on the laptop installation. I've decided to just install it on my desktop. New issue. downloaded and installed just fine. However, it won't launch. I'm running windows 8.1 64 bit with a 2.8gb processor, 6 gb ram, and 816 gb of available hard drive space.  When I click on the creative cloud app tile for after effects, the cursor shows the spinning loading indicator for a few seconds then... Nothing. No error messages, nada. I've installed and uninstalled the programs (cloud and after effects) numerous times, signed in and out of cloud and updated as well. Any ideas that could help me resolve this?

Have you rebooted the machine?

What version did you install?

Try launching it from Windows and not the CC app.

‌rebooted several times. Using phone to text this response, please excuse typos, etc. Corrections: ghz processor not gb. Windows 8.1 Pro (updated from win 7) I downloaded the "CC 2015" version of after effects as I don't know enough about the program to know the difference. I REALLY appreciate your continued assistance and advice in this matter. Thank you for your efforts.
