Hi,
You would think this would be a simple question, but I've spent a couple of hours looking, not to mention being "on hold" for an hour with the chat folks, and still haven't found the answer. I paid for Acrobat Pro X in 2012 and have it on my desktop and a laptop. I have just bought a new Mac laptop, and need to install it there. I deactivated the copy on my desktop. But when I tried to install in on the new Mac laptop, I get to the point where I enter a serial number but then get an error message "This serial number is not valid for this product." Does Adobe not permit downloading a product I've already paid for to a different operating system?
The question is fairly simple, but the answer is what you might find hard to deal with. With exception for only a couple of their lesser products, most Adobe licenses are platform specific. Your Windows license will not work for a Mac system. You might be able to install Windows emulation software on the Mac to get the Windows version working, but beyond that there are no other options to get the older Acrobat version working on the Mac. thanks very much. Have just found out the same thing, because the chat folks finally got online with me after about an hour. Seems very unfair and wrong, but that's the policy. So now I've got to decide whether to pay for the Mac version or go looking for cheaper alternatives.
