Creative Cloud won't uninstall

Community Beginner ,

Hi all!

On a Mac here and in a pickle...

Already tried:

  • Using Uninstaller in Application/Utilities/Adobe Installer
  • Downloading the CC Cleaner.
  • Quitting/Force Quitting any associated processes associated with CC and Adobe as a whole prior to running uninstaller.
  • Migrating any CC sync files into a back up folder on the desktop.

Yet both uninstallers refuse to do their task because apparently either Creative Cloud is still running to some degree in the background, or there are still apps that require Creative Cloud. (The later bordering on Catch 22) It doesn't seem to make any sense.

That said, I'm planning to reinstal because of an error code 1002 for the update.

Any other ideas to how this can be figured out?

Many thanks!

It's now managed to update for some reason — not what changed that made it able to.

open your activity monitor and terminate any cc threads.

use the cc desktop uninstaller, Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application

As mentioned I've already tried both that installer and force-quitting any associated CC processes. (Sorry if my terminology was misleading)

the cleaner is not the same as that uninstaller.  make sure you used that uninstaller.

change your cc desktop preferences so it doesn't start when you log-in.

restart your computer and recheck for any running cc processes and terminate them.

uninstall your cc desktop app using the uninstaller.

if you successfully uninstall, you can then use the cleaner.

Unfortunately I cannot change the preferences as CC requires an update before doing anything else — the update itself returns with an error code 1002, which is exactly why I'm having to reinstall it as advised.

Tried several time terminating all processes as before but it still assumes CC is running in some capacity.
