I’m running Maverick on an iMac. I have my original install disks and serial number for CS6. The iMac does not have an optical drive and Maverick does not support my USB external optical drive.

Any ideas on how I can get the software back on my Mac?

Copy the install data via a different computer to an external drive. Then install from there.

Then the CD/DVD USB drive you have is defective or the cable from the drive to your Mac is bad. Buy another, New one. It does NOT have to be from Apple.

Maverick does support external USB connected CD/DVD drives.
