After dreamweaver update to 21.5 Git is not working anymore on windows 11 in dreamweaver.  Git works outside dreamweaver.  Git settings are greyed out for both new and existing sites. Git panel is blank. Please assist. Thanks

Yes I have the same problem. Git doesn't work in DW 21.5. This is definitively a bug in the new DW version, on my backup PC with 21.4 it works perfectly. Please fix this problem a.s.a.p.

Thanks for writting to us.
Could you please try below steps and re-launch DW for git to work.
- Navigate to Edit menu > Preferences> Git tab.
- In "Path to Git executable" give full location of git. E.g: "C:\Program Files\Git\bin\git.exe" and click on Apply button.
- Relauch Dw

@naiina I've already tried it, but it doesn't work. I already reinstall Git client, it doesn't solve the problem.

Hi @naiina , Thanks for getting back. We have tried all these steps but nothing worked. Even creating new project has git settings greyed out.

Git stopped working after update to 21.5 on windows 11. Please fix it asap.

It's working. Below steps worked for me

1) I deleted the value in Path to Git executable: under Git Preferences

2) Click Apply button and close Dreamweaver

3) Open Dreamweaver and git started to work, surprisingly the value in Path to Git executable was already pre populated.

@hendrik louisp27175984Thanks, but this workaround doesn't work. I deleted the path to the git.exe, restarted DW, but still the same problem. I only can solve the problem by downgrading to 21.4 😞

I am also having the same issue and tried this suggested solution. It did not fix the issue.

@christinab52200341I had a call with a technican from Adobe. They are investigating the issue and want to release a fix a.s.a.p. So I recommend a downgrade to 21.4 until the fix is released. You should backup the settings before you downgrade otherwise your seetings will be lost.

I'm having the same issue and was only able to get Git to work was to downgrade to 21.4

Dreamweaver was stuck on "Please wait Git is being initizliaed" and after added "C:\Program Files\Git\bin\git.exe" to "Path to Git exectutable" it resolved the issue.
