Adobe Dreamweaver CC not putting newly saved files to the top of local files folder

Participant ,

Hi there,

I've just come back to do some work on my "hobby" website after a few months layoff and now when I save a new Dreamweaver file it does not appear ~ as it used to ~ at the top of my local files folder.

Despite not showing at the top it has in fact been saved correctly with my recent updates/changes but I now have to scroll down to the specific page file and then upload it.

I have reset the Dreamweaver preferences but the issue remains.

Apart from this issue all else appears okay.

Any advice appreciated.

Kind regards, Garry.

P.S. I have also gone to "view" then "show hidden files" to no avail.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

This sounds like an issue with the sorting order of the files if you say that the most recent file is not showing up at the top of the files window when you update it. First what version of DW and OS are you using? Also, have you tried clicking on the modified date sort to ensure that it is showing in the direction you wish. And if so, is that saving or resetting every time you restart DW?

Dreamweaver 21.6

Ventura 13.2

Thanks for reply Ben  .  .  .  it set me on the right path to resolve this issue !

Although I've no idea why it would have changed ~ certainly without my input ~ the "Advanced Settings" had changed.

I found the solution below here within the Adobe Community but have since unfortunately lost the persons details who posted it so am unable to credit and thank them in person.

To once again get my newly modified Dreamweaver files to appear at the top of the "Local Files" column I had to follow their instructions.

Click on "Site ~ Manage Site"

Select site name and click on "edit" (pencil icon)

Select "Advanced Settings"

Select "File View Columns"

Select "Modified" and "Edit" (pencil icon )

Check "Show" box.

Save.

Many thanks once again to all.

Kind regards, Garry.

LATEST

Files panel (F8) displays folders & files alphabetically in either ascending ↑ or descending ↓ order.  Click on arrow to toggle directions ↑ or ↓.  Or for quicker searches, sort by the Modified date.  See screenshot.

Hope that helps.
