after i open Dw cursor keeps loading&flickering every view seconds (W10)

Hi all

I am experiencing problems with the Windows 10 Host service WebClient after i start Dw (1193 Build)

As soon as i start working with Dw the cursor starts to indicate loading (busy wheel) and keeps flickering (wheel)

I reinstalled Dw (before the last W10 upgrade) but this behavior keeps coming back? So i don't want to reinstall Dw after every upgrade...

I have my projects on oneDrive but stored locally.

So, when i "kill" the WebClient service i got some peace. But i don't think this is the best and proper way to get rid of problem.

has someone out there made similar experiences and solved the problem.

I would appreciate any hint

Thanks

Chris

From the build number, it looks like an old version of Dreamweaver. Can you provide us with the version number?

Also see Dreamweaver CC 2017 process "node" high CPU usage

If you have a purchased version of DW CC, I suggest getting in touch with the tech support team using this link Contact Customer Care

Thanks,

Preran

Hi Preran

Thanks for your answer.

The Version is CC 19 - 11193 build ( i missed a 1...)

So i reinstalled Dw but had no success also with the node hack.

As soon i have Network traffic from the WebClient the cursor starts Flickering, its annoying

After the traffic from drops it stops fr a view secs and the it goes again.

Stops only when i close Dw or kill the  WebClient service...

node is not making any trouble, at least i don't see it on the heavy CPU/Memory consumption TopTen

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I don't really know what the underlying issue is. I suggest getting in touch with Customer Care using the link I shared previously. You can redirect them to this post so that you don't have to share information all over again.

Let me know if you need more help. After your issue has been addressed, I would recommend posting the solution here for the benefit of other users that may be facing a similar issue.

Thanks,

Preran

I've had similar issues with upgrading to 2019. I contacted Adobe Support but with limited success. Essentially, I downloaded 2017 CC

and it worked. When I tried to execute the 2019 version, I got the following screen. It's just before you can "activate" the app. I've checked my Adobe account and no matter what I've tried either Deactivating all (1 or 2) apps, nothing works. I think I've resigned myself to working with 2017.  dreamweaver issue.jpg

What happened when you clicked on Allow Access in Windows Defender?

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for the follow-up question. Nothing changes. There is something wrong with the JavaScript that occurs just before you see the screen to accept/activate the software. I realized this as when I installed the 2017 APP, the software opens without issue at the point where it requests acceptance/activation of software. I checked my Adobe account and it shows that 2017 (not described) is active on my PC. Microsoft couldn’t help me either. There’s a bug within Dreamweaver that interferes with Defender (Windows 10) but no one has a clue.

Is this an individual or Team / Enterprise account?

I have an individual account.  I use Windows 10 with the latest updates and no trouble running either 2017 or 2019 DW.  I can only conclude that something on your system is different from mine.

Use the CC Cleaner Tool to uninstall DW and reinstall.

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Thank you for your reply. Everything you’ve suggested was attempted by the Adobe Support technician. Regrettably, no success.

Are you working directly from the OneDrive folder?

Do you have a remote server and/or testing server set up?

Try temporarily doing the following one at a time to try to isolate the issue:

1) disable one drive

2) disable anti-virus

3) disable any third party firewall if you are using one

4) In Dreamweaver > site definition > testing and/or remote server > advanced tab > uncheck: 'maintain synchronization information'

So difficult to know what's causing it, bit of trial and error sometimes required to pin it down.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you so much for the detailed response.

I first thought it was due to having the site folder on OneDrive so, I moved it back onto my PC. No difference.

As I said previously, the 2017 version works fine after trying to get the 2019 software to fully execute. I couldn’t get beyond the flickering cursor as none of the submenus could be accessed (see attachment) as the software is beginning to be ready for Activation. I showed this to Adobe Support and they couldn’t explain it. We reviewed all of the active apps on my account and removed all of them. We then restarted the PC to begin with a “new slate”. Once I got into my account, we noticed a single PC with the account Active.

Tried again with the 2019. Nothing. Meanwhile 2017 is working fine. Here’s an interesting piece of information. At the time of where the “flickering issue” begins on the 2019, I also received one of my attempts, an alert about Defender and JavaScript. The Adobe Tech had no clue what to do. Tried to find the issue and file and do something with it BUT nothing helped.

The flickering cursor begins at the same time when the app is trying to activate. I know this as it’s virtually the same time in 2017 that the app is going through it’s initial process connecting it to the Adobe server and confirming its connection. BTW, all of the successful attempts were performed with McAfee turned Off. Also, all of the unsuccessful attempts were performed with McAfee turned Off. McAfee is the “default” Firewall/Virus software.

Something is NOT being permitted/recognized in 2019 as it is in 2019. I don’t want to try the 2018 version as I have a “stable” version working.
