Application Object !!

New Here ,
Apr 25, 2006 Apr 25, 2006

Hello as you can tell i am a newbie. I was trying to create a Form that users can submit. I was able to set up all the backend stuff - setting up the database, creating tables, establishing connection etc. Finally when I was trying to create the actual form I found out that I apparently do not have "APPLICATION OBJECT" Listed.

where can i obtain an "Application Object". Is it a free extension or do we have to purchase it. I am using the following version:

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 - Version 7.0.

Any advice and suggestions would be a big help. Thank you.

How did you find this out?
Did you receive some kind of error message somewhere?
If so, what does the error message say?

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Apparently the application object does not appear on the Insert Menu unless a testing erver has been specified in the Applications Panel. Once I set up the site, I was able to access the application object from the Insert Menu. Thank you for your input.

Cheers

Did you get your site definition set up right?
For server technology, you need to choose your choice, like ASP, ASP.NET, PHP,ColdFusion, JSP, etc..
Only then after you made the choice, save the new edited site definition, you would see the Application Object on the Insert Panel.
