Anyone ever made an auto repair website with DW? I was thinking on doing one, but based on this web design company website:

http://www.motoshop.com/motorev-demo/

It is actually quite complicated, at least as far as email is concerned (emails based on car mileage, rating request emails. ability to post those emails on social media, etc.).

To answer your question: yes, in the 20+ years since Dreamweaver was first created there has been at least one person out there that has made an auto repair website. Nothing is complicated if you know what you're doing.

It makes me wonder why you would want to recreate the wheel rather than use the one that is already available.

There is a lot of work involved and comparing your hourly rate with the cost of the application, it may be a fruitless exercise.

Having said that, with the tools that DMXzone have made available, at a cost, you may be able to rival the cost of the Motor-Rev application. Emailing is made a cinch, as is database manipulation. Yes I would give it a go.

Wappler, the only real Dreamweaver alternative.

Hi Ben. Using a newsletter software application interacting with a database containing the clients' email address you could create a series of email templates to send to customers:

1) One asking for a testimonial / rate after work is complete

2) One for typical repairs at 30,000 miles, 60,000 miles, etc.

3) One for seasonal issues cars have (summer, winter)

The only problem is that even with a database you would still have to login to the website and send these manually. Whereas the Motor-Rev application apparently sends them automatically.

Which is hard to understand when you consider the sheer number of auto repair software packages available: http://www.capterra.com/auto-repair-software/
