Creating a calender application

I kno my quesiton might be really broad but ive never tried creating a php application. I need to make an application for a customer that allows them to update a calender daily. If there is a way to make one kind of like a myspace interface i think that would work great. Is there are any books or website tutorials that anyone can suggest that would be great. I dont know much about this subject but i eager to learn.

If you want to build this yourself then the first thing to do is learn php. Don't even bother reading about building specific applications until you have at least a few months experience with the language learning the fundamentals - and spend even more if you are building something for a client. If you don't have the time to invest in that right now, why not just find a script already made for this purpose. There are tons of php calendar scripts available that you can use with very little knowledge of programming languages.

Is there a good book that you kno of or a website with a good tutorial or a good script u said is out there that u kno is good. Anything will help.

You mean to learn php? David Powers, a regular contributer here, has several php titles that are highly recommended by folks around here. Check Amazon or send him a PM for his personal suggestion.

I haven't used any PHP calendar scripts personally, but you can just search the web for 'php calendar script'.  Without providing more details about your requirements, nobody could really suggest any at this point. There are lots of them and each have slightly different features.
