Dreamweaver 2020 not starting correctly

Hi,

I installed a few apps through Creative Cloud. Acrobat and InDesign work fine, but when trying to launch Dreamweaver, nothing happens.

If I check the tasks manager, Dreamweaver appears with only 7Mo of memory each time I try to launch it again.

I tried deleting and reinstalling it, didn't work.

Any idea?

I have a limited amount of internet data so if I could avoid re-downloading again and again, it would help me as well 😛

Thanks!

William

I've tried different solutions in the link:

- resetting preferences

- doing a clean install

- shutting down firewall, anti-virus...

Still same problem so far.

I've tried creating a new user, and when logging through this one, it works, but not through the main user.

Any idea?

Reading that, I can only assume that you are on a Mac. As my machine is a PC, I do not have that problem.

I've already tried this of course, doesn't change anything for this problem.

Bit of a stab in the dark but try uninstalling Dreamweaver, restart Windows.

Now close/exit the Created Cloud app.

Now go to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and if any Dreamweaver folder(s) are left over delete them (if you have an older version installed you want to keep obviosuly don't delete that folder). I'd also do the same by navigating to C:\Program Files\Adobe\ ...

Relaunch the Creative Cloud app by right clicking the shortcut icon > run as administrator & try installing Dreamweaver again.

Hi William,

Can you please provide additional info and try performing the below and let us know if the issue gets resolved.

  1. Run cleaner tool to remove Dreamweaver and other Adobe applications, reboot your machine and again install the creative cloud app, install Dreamweaver
  2. OS configuration ?
  3. Please share Dreamweaver.log after launching Dreamweaver

To enable logs add DWORD DWLog = 1 in the below regedit location

     Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2020\Logging

Log will be available at C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2020

4. Check if running the limited access repair tool works. Steps available at this link

5. Try if setting local admin account works. Steps available at this link.

Thanks,

Nayan
