As Sonoma is currently only a beta, and with Dreamweaver being in minimal maintenance mode, you likely won't see any patches or updates until Sonoma moves to final release.
Have you tried the usual suspects of deleting preferences, trying a different user account, re-installing, etc.?

Hi @jdcallow,
We apologize for the issue observed on Sonoma. This issue is specific to macOS Sonoma and we are investigating the issue alongwith Apple engineers considering the issue doesn't exists on macOS versions prior to Sonoma. As a workaround, please try installing Dw version 21.1 on your machine to avoid the code view right-click crash. We will keep this thread updated once the issue gets resolved in near future on latest Dw version.
Have a pleasant day!

have things been fixed or should I still avoid upgrading my iMac to Sonoma? I use photoshop, dreamweaver, inDesign.

No. Still does not work. I just updated to latest version of Sanoma (14.2.1 (23C71)) and Dreamweaver still crashed. Older versions of dreamweaver work.

My experience as well. I am using version 21.1 and I had to set the interface theme to light. If the interface is set to any of the dark modes the code editing area flashes white whenever finish typeing -- which is unbelievably hard on my eyes. I assume that Adobe is not going to fix this. I dont need the graphical editor so currently I am test VS Code as a replacemnt. Frankly its UI is crude in comparison to DW. For those looking for codeing alternative to DW I'll post here what I find.

As a side note. Companies that buy other companies for their products (as Adobe did here with Macromedia) should bear some resposibility and keep the product going either in house, sell/give it to a company that will keep it going or spin it off as its own company or as an open source product. I am hoping that Adobe is considering something simular.

That's unrealistic. Macromedia went belly up in the early 2000's. Adobe actively maintained DW for 2 decades and is still maintaining it, albeit minimally, for the convenience of a few senior users. However, the vast majority have moved to more sophisticated solutions like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Commerce (Magento) or competing products like Webflow, Wix or WordPress.
There's little if any interest in old desktop web software these days.

I dont want to take this into the weeds, but when a large portion of company's growth strategy is through aquision there should be an equal portion of responsibility. FWIW Macromedia didn't go belly up. Adobe didn't pay 3.4B for failed company.

Thank you for the update.
It's good to know that Apple is aware of their "right-click" problem.
Have a great weekend!

In 2024 is there any reason I shouldn't upgrade to Sonoma? I use dreamweaver, inDesign, photoshop. Will all of these work properly in Sonoma? I use version 21.3 of Dreamweaver.

It should work OK with Sonoma's latest updates.

According to Creative Cloud system requirements, Sonoma (beta) isn't a supported OS. In fact, no beta is.
Make sure your computer meets the minimum CPU & GPU requirements. Most Creative Cloud apps work on:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for writing to us. Can you please let us know what issues you are observing with Dw 2021 on macOS Sonoma beta. Also, please update to the latest Sonoma beta version for letting us know the issues you are facing with macOS Sonoma beta. As mentioned by Ben and Nancy, we will not have active support with macOS Sonoma considering the OS is still in beta version but we would like to know the issues you are observing for our initial investigations.
Have a pleasant day!
Thanks,
Nayan
