Whatever I try or whatever tutorial I use, I just cannot get it right!!
Can somebody please help?
Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for replying.
I have looked up your example and am working on the Html/Css etc. which I hope that I can make work.
It is the PHP ans set-up thereof that I am having real difficulty with.
Regards.

Dreamweaver won't help you with PHP or setting up a server.  What are you looking to do?  Are you looking to code in PHP or setup a site using a CMS like Wordpress?

dreamweaver doesn't really help you on the PHP side, you will have to code it by hand...

are you learning HTML / CSS or are you confortable with ?

are you learning PHP from scratch.... do you know any other programming language ?

Hi @Gordon5069,

So you're trying to create a secure contact form and mail processing script with PHP, is that correct?

You can probably use this PHP Mail sending library recommended by most web hosts.

https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer

Failing that, use a 3rd party form service like Wufoo.com, JotForm or possibly MailChimp (for adding users to a mailing list).

1. Create a form on their website.

2. Copy & paste their embed code into your HTML document in DW.

3. Test the contact form on your remote server.

Hope that helps.

If scripting is beyond your skill set, don't attempt to do this yourself.   As I said before, use a 3rd party form service like Wufoo.com or JotForms.  All the form processing occurs on their servers, not yours.

Build the form on their site,  copy & paste the embed code into your HTML document.  Upload your HTML document to your server to test the form.  Your contact page can be up & running in 10 minutes or less.  🙂

You may have to find out from your web hosting company what versions of php your website can support.
