This is a user-to-user forum.  It's doubtful that you will receive any answer to your Java question here.   That said, I'm certain all software makers will do whatever is necessary when the time comes.

With the recent announcement from Oracle about Java support

Can you provide a link to Oracle's announcement?

Is it this one about requiring Commercial businesses to have a subscription to get future Java updates?

Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap

All the software versions you have listed are old and superseded. I would be surprised if Adobe updates those.

Or are you asking about Adobe's support plans for current and future versions of those products? If so, I doubt they will comment in these forums. As Nancy says, they'll do what they need to do when the time comes.

Thank you for your post, and for your question.

Like John said,I am sure that the team is cognizant of these updates and will do what it takes to keep the product functional. Just to be sure, I will run this post through the product team to see if they have anything to add.

Thanks,

Preran

Thanks for all the replies, everyone!

I am referring to Oracle's announcement to require subscriptions for future Java updates. I am wondering what response Adobe has and how they will deal with updates to keep applications secure and up-to-date.

Preran, can you verify for me?

I checked with the team, and they say that post-Dreamweaver CC 2015, there is little dependency from Dreamweaver's side as far as Java is concerned. So, if you are on Dreamweaver CC 2015 or later, you will not be affected by changes to Java versions. Let me know if that helps.

Dreamweaver's dependency on Java was mostly due to the server behaviour extensions, and for people still using those, upgrading to a later version of Java could affect the behaviour of this feature.

Thanks,

Preran
