dreamweaver template issues.

New Here ,
May 21, 2023 May 21, 2023

good day all

My  dreamweaver templates when links are checked have no bad links. Pages created from these templates all display the same three broken links.

I am unable to correct the bad links as they seem to be locked by a template.Any suggestions ?

Furthermore ive rechecked all templates and they show no broken links.

Regards

Can we see the page in question to review the code?

Links contained inside template.dwt files have a different path because .dwt files are saved to your site's Templates folder.

Links in Child Pages spawned from the template (File > New > From Site Templates) would have a simpler link path.

For more precise answers, we need to know:

1. Are you using links relative to Site Root or Document?

2. Where is your child page saved relative to the linked page?  Are they both at site root level or do you keep pages in sub-folders?

Do you have access to the original .dwt template file?

I hope for your sake you're not working with Nested Templates 😣

If you are planning on continuing with Dreamweaver consider updating your site to use use include files, for example if your  site is PHP based use PHP includes. Dreamweaver isn't getting any more updates and it better if you code is Dreamweaver independent,  in other words so you can switch to another editor without any issues.
