Every time I launch DW CC 2014 on my Windows 8.1 machine I keep getting a Server Busy message where I can switch to the application or try again. Eventually it goes away but it really delays the start up time on my DW application. I have added DW to the trusted applications list for Kaspersky so I don't think that is the issue. Never had this problem with the previous version of DW CC. Anybody else running into this?

Too bad we just can't roll back to the previous edition of DW. That software for me at least, was error free. This new iteration is driving me nuts. Why doesn't Adobe upgrade us to the old version while they try and figure out what went wrong with the new? If your new car has to be in the shop for an extended period of the time, the dealer usually lets you drive a loaner. What happened to good customer service?

Been watching this thread a while hoping issues would be resolved. DW still forces me to continually click "switch to retry server busy" until it crashes completely, Also, when I leave the computer for a while and come back, Crash City gain. It is all the time and I lose my work alot of times since I didn't have a chance to hit save which I do every time now that I make any change. ...and I always save to automatically upload and poof, DW crashes again. Therefore if I was making changes that I want to walk back using UNDO, forget it. I've done little experimenting since this started in the last update.
Right now, I will go back to DW for the same dialogue box waiting for me and maybe a crash too. Awesome. Did any of you people at Adobe ever thing that your accounts in house aren't doing it because you may be connected differently to the cloud than us? I bet during all this time, you haven't. If you are to reproduce this, you must reproduce a customer being logged in to the cloud using DW. I am on a FIOS router, connected by cable and I have tried disabling all firewalls.
I am running Win 7 ultimate. I have a hex core with 24 GB of Ram, SSD SATA III Raid set up with an additional 1.5 TD SSD RAID, 8 TB ATA RAID, along with two USB 3,0 and one USB 2.0 external drives.

Vlad Tepes JR Have you tried turning off any power management on ALL the drives so that they do not sleep or power down? If that does not work I would recommend testing with the external drives completely disconnected to eliminate USB connections too.
For some reason DW occasionally tries all drives (and even card readers), regardless of whether they contain any DW files, and this error occurs when it is unable to access one them. Disabling power management on all drives has 100% resolved the issue for me and many others, although the problem remains for some. Your situation sounds identical to mine, especially the crash after leaving the PC for a while (caused by the drives powering down after 20 minutes using default power management). Obviously this is just a workaround until Adobe fix it (not holding my breath on that!) but it might get you back running normally.

Hey friends,
It is 100% the sleep mode for hard drives. I had to create a power options profile to switch back to when I am not using DW. Moreover, when I prevent the hard drives from sleeping by using the value of 0 when renting in minutes, now using a saved profile, I absolutely must click on the drive under My Computer to ensure that all drives are awake and following the profile I made to prevent this sever busy error from happening. Good call. I am also a video guy and I have a bunch of hard drives, and I can add more if I want. I also have a hackintosh side of my rig I am about to rebuild, and that is always a technical adventure. I can never predict the challenges I face until I start trying kexts to get things running. Glad it happened on the PC si
If you guys want to know that's about tony mac is one place to go and join apple developers for $99 a year. Premiere I think works better in Mac, and that shows. I can't even use pro res anymore on PC with the new CC. Why do it? For 18K to get my dream mac pro before apple monitors, you get more bang for the buck if you can navigate the technical morass to build your first one. And people are leaving FCPX for premiere. Lynda.com made videos just for people to transition. I have always used premiere since 1996 and it has really come into its ow
Thanks guys for all the help. I normally read forums and not contribute. DW is so important to me, I had to offer any observations I could. This fix is livable. Hope it doesn't carry over to other programs and is on DW. SSD's are still expensive and I would like them to last longer by sleeping when not in use.

itis ur connection. I get 1@44mb ( T 1 Los Angeles Library system) per second, but n.s.a. pipes in 750mb per millasecond to grab memory while Google apps for my site garner a 2mb stream, so I get the same thing as you. The moderator also took off a complaint of Flash update gave me a lucom virus, discussed on many webpages. What Are they Hiding? The speeds 16/kb often show up for me in libraries in La, the system is 1996 - 2000 , so ancient and so the connections can only take like 10 computers, but there is nearly 40-50, and one cannot even get onto their email most of the time.

Hello all,
We are working on a fix for the issue.
Once we have the fix ready & tested internally, we could use your help to confirm that the issue is also fixed in your respective environments.
Thank you for your patience.

By the way, add Windows 7 64 bit Home edition to your list of environments it shows up in.

PS I think it's in the Update.

I just started getting this issue on Win 7 64-bit Home Premium, but only AFTER I uninstalled DW CC. The installation of 2014.1 did not replace CC, and I figured I'd try out the new version for a while before uninstalling the prior version. After uninstalling the prior version, this issue began.

My problem was finding DW CC. It's possible I have already eliminated it. Hope this isn't a dumb question.
Thanks

I've got the same problem. When opening DW I get the Server Busy box with Switch to Retry and Cancel....just like everyone else. If I click switch to 20-30 times sometimes it lets me in. I also get the server busy dialog box when I'm able to work in DW.
Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, all updates current.
DW 2014.1.1 build 6981, all updates current

Hi all,
We have a bug logged and from our observations, it looks like there are many potential sources for this issue. We can have an ETA only after we have a firm understanding of its complexity and the resources required to fix this bug. We will keep you updated on our progress. Rest assured, we have it high on our list of things to fix. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks,

Oddly enough there might be some legitimacy to the extra HDD not being spun up as a cause. I initially ignored this as a possible cause because in my windows power saving settings I have it set to never turn off the HDDs at all. However I have noticed that when my DW gives me this Try Again error if I go under my computer and open my second HDD it takes it a few seconds to show me the files like it is having to spin up or something. Once it shows me the files though I can go back to DW and click the Try Again button only once (instead of the usual 15 - 20 times) and it goes away and lets me keep working. Hope this helps in some way. Really tired of this bug.

I just have a C drive with no other external hardware attached. I called Adobe support who remotely connected to my PC and we were able to open DW 4 times, but the error is back and DW is useless.

Considering this is just one of many threads about a Server busy error and this particular thread is 7 months old, I'm pretty sure no one here really knows what "high on our list of things to fix" really means.....Please fix this or give us a work around.

Any update on this issue? I called and spoke to an Adobe support specialist and we went through a few things trying to get my DW to work. Then he told me he was escalating he problem and would get back in touch with me.....That was over 3 weeks ago

If I can get DW to open to the main screen I'll get the server busy error again but I have had some pretty good success getting DW to reopen without the server busy error when I go into the task manager/ processes and use end process for Adobe CEF Helper.exe *32 and AdobeIPCBroker.exe*32. I have 3 Adobe CEF Helper.exe *32 running and have to end process from the 3rd, 2nd, 1st then end the AdobeIPCBroker.exe*32 process. Then use the task manager/application manager and end the DW process. When opening DW again I don't get the server busy error but have to move quickly and open any of my DW website files. Once I'm able to get a file open I'm good to go….for a while.

Sounds like you may have picked up a Trojan Horse that's invaded your PC. Have you scanned your system for Viruses and Spyware lately?

Just went through a full AV scan with Webroot and spyware scan with Spyhunter and the cef helper is still there. I'll go through the process to manually remove the cef files.

I just got off the phone with Adobe support regarding this problem. I confirmed with them that Adobe CEF Helper.exe and Adobe ICPBroker.exe are NOT viruses or spyware and they are valid Adobe processes.

I was getting the "Server Busy" error as well and figured it must be the "Welcome Screen" hanging up as it tries to communicate with Adobe's servers. I selected "Don't Show Welcome Screen Again" and the problem is gone.

I just disable the welcome screen but am still getting Server Busy.
