Just for clarification: Your project (read: Site Definition-connected Project) was missing, or the document you were working in? We may need a bit more information in order to get started...

What do you mean by "project was not there"?
Were you working within a Defined Site and that's no longer showing in the Files window? Or were you working on a single .html page when the program crashed and that's no longer there?
If the file you were working on wasn't saved before the crash, you're pretty much out of luck.
If you were working within a Defined Site and it isn't showing, but the files still exist on your computer locally, you can create a new one (Define a Site) and set the existing folder as the site's root.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us and we apologize for the issue you are facing. Could you please provide us the steps or workflow which led to Dw quitting unexpectedly. We will need this info for reproducing the issue internally and accordingly debug the issue.
Dreamweaver provides File Auto Recovery feature which restores the document after a crash or power outage. Dw does auto saves the files at regular intervals but it only works if you've saved the file at least once.
Please refer to this page for details on Auto-recovery of files.
Please let us know if the files were restored else we can remote connect (details sent in private message) at your convenient time and try to restore the files.
Thanks,
Nayan
