Error After Making Updates

New Here ,
Jul 16, 2024 Jul 16, 2024

We use Dreamweaver to maintain our staff directory. We make changes in Dreamweaver and save them. The changes are then uploaded to our staff directory in SharePoint. Right now, we get an error on the staff directory page where any change was made. Why is this happening? Is it a problem on the Dreamweaver side or a problem with SharePoint?

Uh oh, looks like the start of a 20 Questions thread.

I'll go first...

Is it bigger than a bread box?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Without more information there is absolutely no way to answer your questions. First and foremost, what is the actual error (code and text) that you're seeing and when, exactly, are you seeing it (after I click -x-, once I open -abc-, etc)?

What is the error you are receiving? What type of file are you editing in DW that you are uploading?

Personally speaking, I would try to get that out of DW and Sharepoint altogether. Most of your HR solutions today that manage payroll/timeoff/benefits/etc all have org charts built in which are dynamic, managed by HR (as opposed to a web team), and could drastically improve your processes.

=============

Sounds like coding errors could be to blame.

1. Validate code and fix reported errors.

Window > Results > Validation.

2. Check current document by clicking the white triangle.

3. Repeat with other problem pages.

I concur with @Ben M about better solutions for managing a Staff Directory.
