Extract does not create HTML files for you.

You must create a new HTML document in DW and add your own structure and content to it.

thank you for your answer. Do you mean an empty (index).html file? In the tutorials I've seen they start with a html file  that allready has the basic structure of the website.

for instance in

https://helpx.adobe.com/nl/dreamweaver/how-to/copy-css-from-psd.html?playlist=/services/playlist.hel...

they start with the renderd-start.html file. (see image)

Is it possible to export such a flie in PS from the PSD file. Like opening the PSD file in PS and export an html file without the text etc  but with the setup ?

hope you can help.

For me it is the missing link I cant' find......

thank in advance

No.  As stated in the correct answer, you must create the HTML file yourself.   Extract does not create HTML code.

To create a new file, go to File > New > New Document > HTML > hit the Create button.

SaveAs index.html.

To build websites, you need a working knowledge of code -- HTML, CSS and JavaScript.  Start with these links:

I know how to create an index.html file, but what I am missing is that you have to create the layout in HTML 1st before you can style with CSS extracted from the PSD. Is there a way to use the layout from PS? Maybe slice it in PS and save for web...?

thanks

PS does not create a layout, you need to do that manually. After that, you can use the images and style rules that PS presents you with.

Wappler, the only real Dreamweaver alternative.
