Please could someone explain how to manage the files panel toolbars so that I can put the buttons underneath the drop-down menu. Also, I cannot switch to see the remote files at present. How can I do that?

With thanks.

Thanks for this, but I'm sorry I don't understand any of it.

What do you mean by "just expand it on width"?

Where is the selector?

when you hover over the left edge of the palette, the cursor turns into a double horizontal arrow, you can then click and drag and extend the width of the palette

Have you created a Site Definition yet?

Once created, you will need to select your site from the Files Window dropdown menu in order to activate the tools there.

Hi @gerrywolff446,

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking.  Buttons inside the Files Panel (F8) cannot be moved if that's what you mean.

In the screenshot below, my local site folder and remote server are defined in DW (Site > Manage Sites...).

In this second screenshot, my Files Panel is fully expanded and connected to my site's remote server.  To un-expand panel, hit the Expand icon a 2nd time.  To disconnect from server, hit the Connect icon a 2nd time.

If that's not what you're asking, please come back and elaborate with a screenshot so we can see what you see.

Thanks for this. I've bought an up-to-date version of Dreamweaver and the
buttons are where I like them.

LATEST

Given that CS3 from 2007 is 14 years removed from the current 2021 version, you should expect many, many changes in menus, features and UI.  The web has changed a lot.  And this is all new software compared to what you've been using.
